Taxes and fees

Local telecommunication fees and surcharges can vary significantly depending on your location, the specific services you use, and the regulations in place. These fees and surcharges are typically added to your telephone or internet service bill and are used to fund various programs, services, and regulatory requirements. Common examples of local telecommunication fees and surcharges include:
Universal Service Fund (USF) Fee: The USF fee is designed to ensure that all Americans have access to affordable telecommunications services. It helps subsidize services in rural and underserved areas and is collected from telecommunications providers and, in some cases, passed on to consumers.
Federal Universal Service Charge (FUSC): This charge is a percentage of your monthly phone bill that contributes to the USF. It varies depending on your phone service provider and the services you subscribe to.
Local Taxes: Local governments may impose taxes on telecommunications services. These taxes can include sales tax, utility tax, and 911 service fees. The specific taxes and fees can vary by location.
E-911 Fee: This fee goes toward funding emergency services, such as 911 call centers. It is often charged on phone lines to support the infrastructure and staffing necessary for emergency response.
State Regulatory Fees: States may impose various regulatory fees and surcharges on telecommunication services to fund state-specific programs or regulatory agencies.
Telecommunications Relay Service (TRS) Fund: TRS fees support services for individuals with hearing or speech disabilities, enabling them to communicate over the phone.
State 911 Fee: Some states levy a separate fee to fund their 911 systems.
Municipal or County Fees: Local governments, municipalities, or counties may impose additional fees or surcharges to support local programs or services.
Infrastructure or Franchise Fees: Some service providers may charge infrastructure or franchise fees to recover costs associated with building and maintaining their network infrastructure.
It’s important to review your monthly telecommunications bills and statements carefully to understand the specific fees and surcharges you are being charged. These fees are often mandated by government regulations, and service providers are required to collect and remit them. Keep in mind that the specific names and rates of these fees can vary depending on your location and service provider. If you have questions or concerns about the fees on your bill, it’s advisable to contact your service provider or consult your local government’s regulations for more information.

Terms and conditions

Poweredge Networking LLC Terms and conditions will be explicit in our service agreement with our customers.

E911 compliance, Disclosure for VOIP customers.

Pursuant to the FCC’s VoIP E911 Order (WC Docket Nos. 04-36 and 05-196, FCC 05-116, released June 3, 2005), 48-49, and Section 9.5(e) of the FCC’s rules, all interconnected VoIP service providers, like Poweredge Networking LLC, are required to “advise every subscriber, both new and existing, prominently and in plain language, the circumstances under which E911 Service may not be available through the interconnected VoIP service or maybe in some way limited by comparison to traditional E911 service.”

911-type Services means functionality that allows end-users to contact emergency services, including, without limitation, police, fire, and medical emergency services. 911-type Services may include Enhanced 911-type Service (E911), which has the ability to selectively route an emergency call to the primary 911 provider so that it reaches the correct emergency service located closest to the subscriber location and to transmit the identification of the subscriber location and telephone number (subject to the obligations to provide and maintain the subscriber location information).

We ask that you carefully read this E911 Disclosure Addendum and understand how these differences affect your ability to access E911 services. If you have any questions or concerns about the information contained in this notice, or if you do not understand anything discussed in this notice, please contact us at (888) 483-2794 during the hours of 8 AM to 5 PM EST.
